The Challenge
Skyview Eye Clinic, a locally owned and operated optometry practice in Edmonton, Alberta, needed a website that would elevate its brand presence and support its mission to provide personalized, comprehensive eye care. While the clinic already had a strong identity rooted in trust, professionalism, and community care, the goal was to create an online platform that mirrored these values while introducing a more modern, engaging, and patient-friendly digital experience.

The key challenge was balancing a clean, clinical design aesthetic with accessibility. The website had to integrate informational content, enable easy online bookings, and highlight services without overwhelming the user.

Discovery & Strategy Phase
Our approach began with an in-depth exploration of Skyview’s brand, audience, and service offerings. The clinic caters to a wide range of patients, including families, seniors, and individuals seeking specialized eye care, so the strategy focused on building a site that felt informative yet approachable, structured yet intuitive.
We carefully reviewed existing branding elements, including the clinic’s logo, color palette, and tone of voice, to ensure they were thoughtfully integrated into the new design. Through close collaboration with the Skyview team, we clarified the primary goals of the website: to build trust through design, make appointment scheduling effortless, clearly communicate services and insurance options, and ensure a smooth user experience across all devices.
To support these objectives, we created detailed wireframes and prototypes, allowing us to test and visualize the site’s structure and user journey early in the process. This strategic groundwork laid the foundation for a site that would serve both the clinic’s practical needs and its patients’ expectations.
Design Concept & Development Phase
We developed a visual identity that maintained the integrity of Skyview’s established look while incorporating modern touches that reflected the clinic’s friendly, community-oriented values.
A carefully curated color palette balanced professionalism with approachability, using subtle warmth and highlights to guide user attention without distracting from the content. Typography and iconography were chosen for clarity and accessibility, especially for patients accessing the site on mobile devices or those with vision impairments. Accessibility remained a key consideration throughout, ensuring the site would be inclusive and functional for all users.
The layout was designed to let content breathe, making room for service overviews to stand out. Calls to action—such as booking an appointment or exploring available services—were emphasized in a way that felt natural and user-friendly. Overall, the final design reflects Skyview’s commitment to quality care and professional integrity while introducing a refreshed digital presence that feels modern, engaging, and trustworthy.
